The Sony HVR-Z7E, at last a camera from Sony with the option to change lenses.
We do think it's over priced for what it can do...But still, if your an independant
wild life film maker and have a set of Nikons or Canon stills, this is the camera for
you. The Z7E comes with a compact flash player/recorder (16 CF card) which will record
up to 50min of 1080x1440 using the Sony HDV codec. The pictures are remarkably good.
We used 3 of them on a 6 week drama series. All cameras were working onto the CF card
with SONY DV tape as back-up.
Everything was backed up at lunch time and then at the end of the day.
CAM no can be put on to the CF recorder, but we did label everything ( film days!!)
The pictures looked really good for PAL 625 analogue broadcast.
We like it and prefer to use it for the lens option.
